DRIVER TRAINING

BEGINNER LESSONS

Making the decision to learn to drive can sometimes feel a little daunting, but here at Roadcraft, our main aim is to help you feel comfortable behind the wheel. We tailor each driving lesson to meet your aims and help you set and achieve your goals. We also aim to progress at your pace, not ours!

Your first driving lesson aims to look at the controls of the car and how they all work. Towards the end of the lesson, we will start to look at moving off and stopping the car and how to steer. From that first lesson, we will go on to teach you all the skills you need to be a safe and competent driver on the roads, as well as helping you pass the driving test and driving independently.

EXPERIENCED DRIVING LESSONS

Here at Roadcraft, we welcome learner drivers who already have previous experience as a driver. Depending on your experience (which will be discussed when you initially contact us), we will offer you a free of charge, 30 minute assessment drive. This will enable us to establish where you are at with your training and what, if anything, needs more work, to enable you to pass the driving test.

REFRESHER/ CONFIDENCE BUILDING LESSONS

Here at Roadcraft, we offer refresher and confidence building lessons for anyone who feels they need a little more support once they have passed the driving test. We will work with you to establish what aspects of driving concerns you and work with you to help you feel more confident. We will do this by working together to set some goals to work towards.

PASS PLUS

Pass Plus is a DVSA approved qualification. It is an in-car practical training course and it takes a minimum of 6 hours to complete. Pass Plus is designed to improve driving skills learnt as a leaner driver to an advanced level. Pass Plus can be taken at any point, but it is recommended for new drivers in the first year of passing their test.

Pass Plus consists of 6 modules. These are driving in town/city, in all weather conditions, on rural roads, at night, on dual carriageways and on motorways. All modules will be taught as practical sessions; however, due to local conditions e.g. weather, some modules may be covered as in-car theory/discussion.

Unlike the driving test, Pass Plus does not require you to take a test. Your instructor will assess you on all the modules. To complete Pass Plus, you will need to meet all the requirements.

Completing a Pass Plus course may entitle you to a discount on your car insurance, but this is down to each individual insurance provider and further advice from your insurance company should be sought.

If you would like to ask any further questions or to book yourself onto a Pass Plus course, please feel free to contact us.
